Walker Hill resort entrance Seoul 1963

Picture of Walker Hill resort project for American servicemen with the Hill Top Bar showing in the background. The resort was located on the outskirts of what was then Seoul, overlooking the Han River and including five hotels, three bars, five restaurants, a Turkish bath, a heated swimming pool and even a trans-Pacific phone connection. Planned were: boating, golfing, riding and night club entertainment. Koreans were said (Seattle Times, November 3, 1963) to have complained that it excluded them from the resort.
